Thanksgiving-ifying my home.

Sorry for my sudden absence over the past couple of weeks.  Sometimes life gets in the way, and this was one of those times.  But I am back now!  With some new stuff to share to help get you into the spirit of Thanksgiving!

Do you ever feel like Thanksgiving is the forgotten holiday?  Society seems to tend to want to skip from Halloween straight into Christmas.  But I am a self-professed holiday junkie, and make it a point to decorate for Thanksgiving each year.  I have a lot of fall decor that gets put up at the same time as my Halloween stuff.  After Halloween, all the Halloween stuff goes away, but the generic fall stuff gets to stay, and I add a few Thanksgiving-specific touches.  I thought I would share a few of those with you today.

Of course, the most obvious spot to decorate is my foyer console.  This area gets decorated for just about every holiday all  year.  I adore my white ceramic pilgrims!  I need to be on the lookout for a brown tray or something else I can put behind them, because they kind of get lost in the white wall behind them.

Even the X-Box gets festive!  One of my favorite items of seasonal decor I own EVER is the sweater pumpkin you see here.  I got that at a craft fair in Gatlinburg, TN last year.  It’s so cute!  The wooden vase is a new purchase (only 9.99!) from the brand new Garden Ridge store that just opened in Orlando!  Love that place!

I don’t know if anyone else noticed all the fantastic Victorian-inspired Thanksgiving decorations at Jo-Ann Fabric this year.  I picked up a few of them when all the Halloween & Fall stuff was marked 75% off and I just love them!

This is where we keep the leftover Halloween candy!

  1. Your Pilgrims are great! I have been on the lookout for Pilgrims for years now and I’ve never seen anything that sweet. Everything looks very cozy and Thanksgiving-ified at your place.

  2. Thanks so much for linking up to the party! I love your pilgrims and if I ever see a set of pilgrims I’m going to grab it.

I agree with you, Thanksgiving is becoming the skipped over holiday!
    Happy Thanksgiving.
