Tadd and I have been trying different “green monster” smoothie recipes lately, and after some trial and error, I believe we have finally found the perfect blend! If you are unfamiliar with green monster smoothies, the addition of spinach might throw you off, but trust me when I say you really can’t taste it at all.
Green Monster Smoothie:
2 sliced bananas
1/3 cup of peanut butter
1 single-serve container of greek yogurt (we used strawberry this time)
1/2 cup soy milk
2 handfuls of spinach
1 1/2 cups crushed ice
Blend well & serve. Mmmmmmmm…

oh thank you Heather! I might try it. I have been having protein smoothies for breakfast most mornings. I use almond milk, frozen banana sliced up, marnNatha organic peanut butter, Nutribiotic vanilla rice protein, sometimes i put some local raw honey also. So deliscious!!! and filling and lasting, I don’t get hungry until its lunch time. thanks for sharing your recipe, i want to try it because i’ve been afraid to use the spinach.
Embrace the spinach! I was skeptical at first too. You can see that it does turn the smoothie green, but I promise you can’t taste it! Peanut butter and banana are both very dominant flavors. They completely eclipse any hint of spinach.
oh does your make one or two servings, i’m using a big smoothie insulated cup with a straw?
This recipe makes enough for Tadd and I to each have a full glass (regular size drinking glass).
I have been drinking protein shakes for breakfast to keep me full and from snacking but I may have to try this.
Give it a try! Sometimes it’s hard for me to get Tadd to eat fruits and veggies, but he gulps this stuff down in no time. It’s really good and so good for you.
